Slay The Gap 

As part of my Master's thesis at the Royal College of Art,  STAGE was developed, an AI-powered social media management platform aimed at addressing the underrepresentation of young professional women on platforms like LinkedIn. The project focused on overcoming key barriers such as imposter syndrome, knowledge gaps, and fear of negative feedback. STAGE utilizes advanced algorithms to provide personalized content recommendations, boosting online visibility, career advancement, and confidence. Through this project, A solution was designed to empower women professionals, helping them navigate challenges in their careers and build a stronger online presence.

Backstory

What you mean by Invisible Women?

Invisibility of women refers to the phenomenon where women's contributions, presence, and experiences are overlooked, undervalued, or unrecognized in various aspects of society.

As author Caroline Criado Perez starkly reminds us in her book Invisible Women, “the result of male-default thinking is that women are not seen, and not counted.”

🎉 Inspiration: Invisible Women 📖


Back in 2022, I picked up Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez, and honestly, it was like someone flipped a light switch in my brain 💡. The book opened my eyes to the glaring gender data gap and how deeply it impacts every aspect of life—from urban planning 🏙 to healthcare 🏥. I remember reading page after page, thinking, “How is this even real?!” 😱
It sparked something in me—a drive to not just talk about these gaps but to do something about them 💪. Fast forward to my thesis, and guess what? I actually got to dive headfirst into this very issue! 🚀 Designing STAGE was like a dream project where I could channel all the frustration and passion that book ignited into creating real solutions.
It’s amazing to think that a single book could plant the seed 🌱 for such a meaningful journey. Invisible Women didn’t just inspire me; it set me on a path to contribute to closing the gender data gap and creating a more equitable world 🌍✨.

Understanding Broader Implications:

The project highlighted how a targeted solution like STAGE can create a ripple effect 🌊, driving systemic change for a more equitable and diverse tech industry 💻. While it may not be a complete overhaul, it has the potential to make a significant dent in the existing gender gap 👩‍💻👨‍💻.

Communicating Complex Topics:

Effectively addressing a weighty subject for a diverse audience proved crucial 🎯. We tackled this challenge by using clear language 📝, eye-catching graphics 🎨, and strategic social media engagement 📱. This approach not only raised awareness but also crafted a compelling narrative that resonated with stakeholders and humanized the issue ❤️.

Reframing Challenges as Opportunities:

Initially, our focus on problem-solving limited our creativity 🚧. By shifting our perspective and reframing challenges as opportunities 💡, we transformed our design thinking process. This allowed us to turn identified problems into springboards 🌟 for impactful and innovative solutions.
